of lines drawn by hypermagical

of lines drawn beautifully sums
up the error of humanity. Every word is perfectly
placed and it is both simple and complex in its meaning.

a universe drawn backwardsI don't know
how to answer the
moon because it's
nine in the morning and
I'm no wolf
maybe,
if I was,
I'd tear through the
morning with a soft
savagery, break past the
bruised atmosphere and
bring back the velvet black
blanket of night, raindrop sown
with a lace-work of pin-prick
stars and dripping glitter, I'd
return the moon, stolen from her
silver silk suspended home a d
stay with her, tracing the
world below with translucent
crater-tipped fingertips
embracing the imperfections and
lacing my veins through the
holes in her; my answer,
her luminescent brokenness
isn't completely unrealized
to the aching eyes of a
wolf dressed in dogwood flesh

This lovely poem by winkie77 plays
with imagery and a familiar metaphor.

Rusting AwayAt first, when I stopped moving, it put me in a blissful state. No longer was I forced to move around and have my muscles stretch and contract and have my feet pound against the ground and have my skin scratch against my clothes with every breath. I was still in the world, yes, but I was not truly of it. I watched the world pass by with eyes that didn't close.
After a time, though, I began to ache for movement. Just a little. To breathe again. To close my eyes so that light no longer felt like a thousand slivers of glass stabbing deep into my brain. My muscles were filled with a deep, throbbing pain just the same as they would if I had used them too hard. I was still in the world, yes, but I dreamed to be truly of it. I watched the world pass by with bleary eyes that didn't close.
The cessation of this agony came so suddenly that my mind cried out in ecstatic relief. I could only imagine that I had finally transcended the physical and entered a purely cerebral plane. Thou

Rusting Away by: CatharticDistraction

A wonderful look at the human condition, this piece
punches time and time again. The repetition that the author
uses makes the piece an easy read and makes
it an easy decision to read it over and over again.

Mom, What's a Vagina? At 9 years old, I rushed home late from my school's "Just Say No" assembly to catch a new episode of Oprah with Dr. Oz. My mom didn't know I watched it, but Oprah was my idol, and I hadn't missed a single episode that year. The doctor strutted on the stage, with all his years of medical training and mastery guiding his tall step and wrinkled smile.  He stretched the blue gloves to his elbows, and dragged the tarp off of the organs he called "healthy". They were a dull pink, and I could almost feel my own fingers scraping against the spongy flesh when he held it up for all to see. I felt a chill in my spine as I raked my own hand over my shirt, and I tried to see what I can feel through my skin and ribs. Only a young beating heart, locked away and dancing to the commercial jingles.
Soon, Oprah and Oz were back, and taking questions from the audience. I groaned when none of the grown-ups knew what to ask. Sure, heart blockage was all very interesting, but when would they ask the goo
